From January to September 2021, Bangladesh's leather industry exports totaled US$96.51 million. In the same period in 2020, exports were US$56.31 million, a year-on-year increase of 71%. However, compared with the same period in 2019 before the epidemic, the export value fell by 8%.

2. Leather products

In 2021, Bangladesh's leather products exports have grown substantially, and have basically returned to the level before the epidemic. The total export value of leather products in the third quarter was US$70.67 million, a year-on-year increase of 33.34% and an increase of 38% compared to the same period before the epidemic. From January to September 2021, Bangladesh's leather product exports totaled US$211.1 million, and exports in the same period in 2020 were US$147.85 million, a year-on-year increase of 43%.
